First time visitor to Lulu B’s situated just as you get off the interstate and come into downtown Omaha / Old Market. Parking is a bit tricky. We found a paid meter in the lot located behind Lulu B’s. Brunch on a Saturday is busy, waiting times vary, but expect to wait for outside and inside dining. We were sat in the back area where there were large parties of families - screaming children, so our noise level experience is a bit jaded. Servers had their hands full with the larger parties - service was subpar. Our #1 rule for a good tip and recommendation is to always have our cups/glasses full glass of water, or beverage, especially if there is no food provided or food just served. We were asked if we wanted a refill after our plates had been removed. We sat through waiting, brunch and getting our ticket with empty glasses. A lot of servers walking around doing nothing… Food was good. Nothing over the top, hashbrowns not crispy as we would like when we asked - good flavor. We’d come back and try again maybe in the fall or winter when not as many people out and about. Recommend: Yes, we plan to try again.
Food and drinks are amazing. However, I have to say there is one employee that stands out from the rest. Kirsten, behind the bar, it's truly amazing at what she does! I would guess she does not think or realize it, but in my mind, is far superior above the rest. While other girls stood around in groups of three or four talking and on their phones she continued to work and serve every customer around the bar. Also while making drinks for the tables with a smile on her face. I hope the owners and managers realize just what a great employee they have in her! This girl deserves a raise and a promotion! Anyone would be lucky to have her as an employee. And no, I do not know her. This is just an observation from a fellow business owner. Keep being awesome Kirsten!
Our 1st time there. And it was awesome. Hostess was very pleasant. Met some nice people from out of town also and we had a great conversation.
Joined a friend here for a brunch date. So great! While the parking was a bit weird in the old loading area, the inside was adorable. The atmosphere was clean and open. I love what they did with the large, open floor plan. The variety of table options was nice. Our waitress, while I don't recall her name, was awesome. She offered suggestions, kept our drinks filled, and took our picture for us at the end. She also got us a military discount as well. Our food was delicious and did not disappoint. My date had the breakfast tacos. They were delicious. I had biscuits and gravy with a side of pancakes. I added fruit, because all those carbs felt naughty. Everything was yummy! Check out Lula B's. It's a great breakfast stop!
Loved this meal. Got there right when they opened and everything was in place ready to go. My bartender, Ryan C was friendly and professional. I really appreciated that he showed me all the menus including the cheap ($8 breakfast poutine!) happy hour (early bird) specials. He also cares about the details and went out of his way to confirm I was going to get what I wanted. I often modify dishes when I dine out and the no-hesitation "yes" is something I have under-valued until now. He was very accommodating, patient and happy to be at work. The place felt very clean (save one mounted can opener needs a detailing) and staff was on task. I have no idea why this place is rated 4.1 as it should be in the 4.8 range IMO. Nice work friends!
